I have had the oppotunity to work with some fantastic clients this year and as this year comes to a close, I wanted to say "Thank-you to everyone".......This year has been a whirl wind and I have had so many opportunities to be so thankful for....the laughter, the joy and the ability to share in moments has made me truly blessed....

Week 19 - Children, Engagement

I have been photographing this little guy since he was 5 Days old and he holds a special place in my heart, Mr. C is a joy to be around as is the funniest and busiest little guy I know...he loves coming over to Auntie Shib's house....

I then had an engagement session with Kevin and Erin who are a fantastic couple...I have known Kevin for years as we graduated from High School together....... through the years we have seen each other on and off at different functions.....it was great to spend the afternoon together and catch up a little and I truly enjoyed our conversations and coffee afterwards to warm up....Here are there sneak peeks...Thank-you Kevin and Erin....Enjoy!!

Week 18 - More Winter Bliss

This weekend has been jam packed....my neice and nephew were here...I met up with the cute Mr. T and then hung out with Mr. G, Ms. S and Ms. K...through out the day it was tons of fun....

Week 17 - Winter Wonderland

I had the pleasure of meeting up with the Hartley family this weekend and what brave soles they were as they ventured out into the cold...it wasn't the nicest of days out...the temperature read a whopping -15 degrees....I am so thankful that we decided to do as there pictures as they turned out fantastic, with that said here are some sneak peeks.

On a side note...when I started the 52 week challenge....I never dreamed that every week I would be photographing people, families and such...I am so blessed with all the families, newborns, moments, creativity sessions that I have had the opportunity to do....thank-you

Week 16 - Happy Babies

I got to meet with Mr. A who is a very curious little guy....not wanting to miss a thing ....he is a very strong baby and here are some sneak peeks...

I also met Ms. M this weekend and couldn't get over how much of a joy she was to work with....All smiles and drool...love it...thank-you to her mom and dad for welcoming me into there home and please enjoy your sneak peeks...

We spent the weekend celebrating my middle sons birthday, he turned 9 on November 5, 2011...the weekend was filled with excitment as we took a trip to Calgary...we went to the Zoo and what a difference it is going when it is not 30 above outside...still exciting and good....

Week 13 - Weekend of Creativity

I had a wonderful weekend, first one of my best friends came down on Thursday to spend the weekend....On Saturday, I met up with the Williams Family.....we met at the dirt bike track when our kids were riding....we have spent many a summers together, they have been fantastic to my kids and I am glad that we got to know each other.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian bloggers...I have had yet again another busy week full of sessions, family and friends....

I had the pleasure of meeting up with the Sawatzky Family this week ...here are there sneak peeks...

We then celebrated the rest of the weekend with family and friends (that I would call family) as we have known each other for a very long time......it is time again to share with you a picture that we have taken since my daughter was an infant, we have 4 generations of girls in our family....

Week 10 - Fall, Friends & Families...

This week was all about Fall, in which I love the colors of, Friends & Families.....to all the families and children that I have had session with this week....Thank-you...what fun we had....

First I met with little Miss C, who is now six months old, I photographed this beauty when she was newborn...This little girl holds a special place in my heart as I have known her mom since I was in Grade 9.....She was far more interested in all around us, as she is very inquisitive....And as cute as a button...xoxox

I then met with the Ross family who I have gotten to know over the past 3 years through our children, they live in the neighborhood and our sons are the same age...They are a wonderful family with big hearts....

Week 9 - What a busy week...

I have had a very busy and successful week....I am very happy with all of my sessions this week....

I was hired by Smith Insurance to do a portrait session of there staff in both the Fort Saskatchewan and Lamont office, here is sample of what I was able to capture......For all your insurance needs, please contact.

While on my way out to the Lamont office, I was able to capture some great shots by taking a drive down the back roads...

Week 8 - Workshop

I took a Road Trip to Cold Lake, Alberta this weekend and had the opportunity to learn from Dave Brosha....

What an experience......

I have learned many things while away...the models were fantastic...the weather cooperated and the people I met were amazing....

It is nice to sit in a room with others who initially are strangers with one common interest/passion photography...... we all became fast friends and I look forward to following there work and adventures...

We are back after a much enjoyed vacation....we spent time with Family and Friends...enjoying the sun, laughing, realxing, doing a little wine tasting, exploring, building sand castles, dock jumping but most of all enjoying everyone's company...here are some highlights.....Thank-you to everyone for you hospitality....

Reflection and Moving Forward...

I finished my 365 Day Project the other day...

Reflection:

Although it was not 365 Days perfectly in a row...I can proudly say that I never cheated and continued on the journey finishing a few weeks late...I am proud of myself for this accomplishment...

I grew in confidence above most and learned a few other things along the way.....

Simplicity can be beautiful....see through the eyes of a lense...see the world at a different perspective....an escape......passion at it finest.....

I have met a ton of people through my work and can honestly say I love what I do....

I have also decided to continue on this journey by doing the 52 week project....a little lesser of a challenge...take a picture a week for 52 weeks...or add your favourite picture of the week.....to see what else I can learn and to grow as a photographer.....

Please join me......

I have met a ton of people in the blog world that have generous hearts, tips.............Although I don't get a chance as often as I would like to look through there work and comment.......my children have kept me busy and so have the many clients that I have met along the way.....

I am looking forward to this next adventure and wish everyone a fantastic summer..as I am off on holidays starting tomorrow.....

We took a trip on the Edmonton Queen....spent the day in the sunshine after a beautiful ceremony with some Celtic traditions....hand fasting....each person being united placed a ribbon over the hands of the couple....there were 7 ribbons to represent each child... they are then tied around the bride & groom's wrists together loosely to indicate that each of them are bound (happily!) by the promise of true love.....had a fantastic dinner and enjoyed a imtimate evening together...I wish Kari and Steve all the happiness in the World and am honoured to have been able to share in your special day with you.....

Ahhh the unispired...it has been raining here for over a week straight....but alas the sun is a shining...

I have been busy trying to entertain my children so I dont have to listen to them say the famous "I'm Bored"....I am sure we all said this as kids but I truly don't remember....we have done everything from play every game in the house, grocery shop, wash and clean-out car, read, watch a movie, play make-believe with stuffies, crafts, etc....been a busy week.....We are all longing to play outside.....

We made homemade Thai Food and this is the way my kids eat there noodles...they told me "Mom there is no reason to cut them, this works just fine." lol

We tried again with Miss Isla to see if we could get some sleeping pictures of her and "NO WAY" was she having any part of sleep....lol...I received some New Product from Frog and Penguin...and am hoping to get more opportunities to use her stuff....

Our one dog crack me up sometimes I truly think he thinks he is human......lol

While playing around with the camera yesterday..my son wanted to take a picture of me...and this is what he got...I think I may have a natural on my hands....I don't genereally care for to many pictures of myself but this one I like and I am super proud of him....

This is how much it has rained over the past week, we now have some fungus friends in our yard.

I have always wanted to take pictures of dragonflies but the opportunity never seems to arise, upon having my morning coffee, I noticed this mass on the fence and jumped into action as it was the biggest dragonfly I have come across in a while.... I am also entering these in Macro Friday and have a grin from ear to ear as I am super excited for these shots....

Wow it is hard to believe that it has been over a year since I started the 365 Day Challenge...I have less than fifteen photos to take...and then it is time for celebration....

I know that this Challenge is suppose to be 365 Days in a row, but in my case "Life Happens" and sometimes there were days that we were so busy....and I can proudly say I never cheated...if I didn't take a photo, I just waited and fell a few days behind.

I have learned in leaps and bounds from this Challenge and have enjoyed every moment of this Journey.....

I have taken a few classes, built a website and see the world through the eye of a lens....different perspective.....Simplicity sometimes can amaze you.....

Creativity sometimes does not come easliy and sometimes when unexpected moments happen, your camera is safely tucked away at home....lol

I am sending a big shout out to Charmaine over at Just Bits and Pieces for starting this Challenge in the first place...

There was a group of us that started and we all should be super proud of ourselves for what we have accomplished.....

I have met many a people in the blog world who share the same passion for photography and to those who host Challenges, Thank-you...

This is my nephew, who joined us on Father's Day.....his name is Cedric Adrain Goodburn and was 7lbs 4 oz....we spent the day with him and his sister...we had a great visit although he really wasn't up for having his picture taken, but with me around.......he needs to get use to it...lol...love ya buddy....

I seem to have lost of few pictures in the process of moving everything over in the last week...so with that I am just continuing on the 365 Day Challenge starting today with 340, etc....uhhhh technology sometimes is not your friend...and I though it was suppose to make our lives easier...lol

Rain Rain GO Away ...it has been raining here for the past two days and we are missing the sunshine...

This week has flown by and let me tell you what a busy one...crazy...but we are finished dancing for yet another year...we had practice all week...there final shows were Friday and Saturday...I am super proud of them both they did a fantastic job...I am excited yet sad to have a break from all the activities...it is now time to enjoy friends, family and the great outdoors...

We spent Saturday enjoying the sights and sounds of the Rainmaker Festival in St. Albert...we enjoyed the midway rides, snowcones and of course mini donuts......

I had a fantastic vacation full of great moments, laughter, relaxation, history, beautiful weather, dancing and of course great friends....

Cuba has such history.....1950 cars all over.....learned a few more Spanish words too....

We went to Old Havana......wow.....culture and a simple way of life....it was a trip of a lifetime and I am so glad that we had the opportunity to do it...too many other trips...Fantastico...

This weekend has been full of activities...we enjoyed a wonderful night out at the Melting Pot in celebration of our annivesary....and yum yum, what a fantastic dinner....

This has been a week....we are celebrating Easter this weekend with a ton of photo ops.....the sun is finally shining and the snow is almost something of the past....I celebrated my ten year anniversary (April 21) this week.....the kids have a few days off of school and in just over a week, I am heading off to Cuba for some fun in the sun.....with some fantastic girlfriends...to unwind, de-stress, laugh, enjoy some good company......and of course to take a ton of photos...

We have been teased...first we get beautiful weather...we were all excited for the snow to be melting and the sunshine......A time to start celebrating Spring... Thursday brought us some more of the white stuff....it may have been short lived but it is slushy, wet and still cold outside :(...we went for a drive today only to discover that some of the ditches are more like small ponds...come on sunshine....

Whew...I seem to be saying over and over again..... what a week...I can't wait for summer...lol...it was picture week this week at dancing and unfortunately I did not get a picture of my other son...:(...but on a positive note we have a lot of competitions coming up at the end of this month..more photo ops...this time I will actually have to remember to bring my camera.....

Sorry for the quality of these two but I was so worried about forgetting something...that I forgot the camera on the counter...good place for it...

Got this new pod warmer...you plug it in...fantastic idea as it makes me feel a whole lot safer without an open flame in my house...and my house smells great...bonus

Welcome Baby C

On Wednesday I got to spend the afternoon with a very special little girl and of course her mom...Baby C was born March 24, 2011 weighing in at 7lbs 3oz and 21.3 inches...she is an angel baby...and I am proud to say that she will grow up in the most love able environment ever...I am elated for her parents and wish them all the best...Congrats to everyone....

Day 263, 264, 265 266

We are on the home stretch...that is the way that I am looking at it...... 100 more pictures -2 to take...... to make 365 Days...but I have stayed true to this challenge...I could have cheated and taken 10 shots in one day posted for the days that I missed...... but I decide to be honest with myself and fall behind a little bit...this challenge was a lot more to take on that I ever thought...at first the ideas were a flowing and they still are...lol....but the time that I need to stay on top of things seems to be slipping away from me...can someone please make the hours in the day stop....just so I can get caught up....lol

I have finished my lighting class and have almost ironed out all the kinks in my website...which hopefully will be live soon...woo hoo...way more work than I ever thought....kudos to all people who have websites that they have built from the ground up.

Sessions are starting to pick up...which I am thrilled about.....I am so looking forward to meeting new clients, capturing moments and enjoying every minute of it....

As I said ...I had the second last of my lighting class....we got to practice using different lights...hard light and soft....the use of the triangle...different backgrounds.....etc......had a interesting subject to shoot...lol....couldn't get this guy to smile if we tried...lol

I did use Allure on it to edit....turning off some of the layers....

This week has been Spring Break for my kids and we have had some fun building bird houses with some bling.....relaxing and enjoying each other company.....we watched the new movie "Tangled" and I think it is my new favourite....the weather has co-operated a bit......it is not so bitter cold out.....yes...come on Spring.......

Unfortunately we have had a very very sick dog who required a vet visit this week and special food...let just hope she gets better soon.....

This is our other dog....he was the only one feeling up to a photo session....lol

Lighting Class.....I am enjoying the lighting class that I am taking....it is hard to take away a photographers flash and say light an object....

One of the hardest things to light is glass but we managed to master it...with a little help....thanks to our instructor.....

This is another idea from another class that I took this past year...simplicity....shoot where you are....I have been spending many hours at the computer....coffee is keeping me going...lol....my desk looks like it is in need a good clean and some organization...but it organized for me thus far....lol.....the ideas have been a flowing.....

....my boys are really into making things out of everything they can find.....duct tape...lids....wrappers..empty water or Gatorade bottles...caps...anything.....they have made everything from.....games, a house for there friends, traps for leprechauns, the Chrysler building (although that was a project for school) ......Future Engineers, architects maybe........

This morning, bright and early................6:15 a.m.................. they were at work thinking and creating a new home for there favourite stuffed animals...they wanted them to be safe while they were at school....it comes complete with company, guards and even a fancy orange sky light.....love there imagination....

I have just recently switched phones from a Blackberry to the New Android Phone, HTC Desire...still not 100 percent sure if I like it or if I will switch back to a blackberry....not loving the whole touch screen...I like having a keyboard....lol....this is a picture of a recent purchase of mine...an orchid, which was on sale otherwise I would have never bought it......this is a big thing for me...I do not have the greenest thumb for indoor plants....and they are suppose to be really delicate flowers...I am hoping I can keep it alive....

This month has gone by in a blur.....my youngest son turned 7 and we took a bunch of his friends to the Movie "Rango"......I have been trying to get organized, finish and go live with my new website......reorganize my files to have a better work flow......meeting with clients for upcoming weddings....going to class........get ready for dance competitions starting at the end of next month and somewhere along the way I seem to have misplaced some of my photos.....uhhhhh how frustrating......but with that said we will continue with what I have....from the last day that I posted.....

Even though I am a little behind on the 365 Day Challenge....I am taking full responsibility for not taking photos for those days....I could cheat but that defeats the whole purpose of the challenge....it has been way harder than I have ever imagined but I have also learned a lot along the way....I am determined to finish this challenge even it is not exactly one year to the day....I will still have 365 pictures....

I have met friends along the way who share the same interest who have inspired me......Thank-you....

I have taken many courses in the past year which have been fantastic...I start yet another course tomorrow and am super excited.......to more learning and inspiration around every corner!!

Between the normal routine of life...lets add in two sick children, a 7 hour stint at the hospital...one teenager...a husband who is working nights and a minor cold for myself...just not feeling 100 percent, no real other symptoms...maybe lack of real rest....and technically difficulties...me and technology just don't seem to be gettin along...what does that equal

= no time to do anything, behind on the 365 day challenge, no bloggin, no scavenger hunt or other blog entries :(.....here's to a better week...fingers crossed!!!! :)

I have spent the week unpacking from our holiday, doing up all the laundry and tryin to get back into routine.......Upon unpacking I came across our tickets for the park and realized that I never took a picture of them....just in case something happens to them.

Last night my little man woke up in the middle of the night not feeling so great...he seems to have a bit of a fever....he is resting right now...so hopefully it doesn't turn into something to serious.....

Days 225 - 232 == Vacation Time

It seems like it has been forever since I was last on here....After a crazy filled weekend full of soccer games we headed out on West Jet to Los Angeles...........

To the magical world of DISNEY....and when they say it is magical they are absouletly right....the minute you walk through the gates you feel like a kid again....

We spent the first night exploring downtown Disney.....

We spent 2 days enjoying the rides at Disney Land and California Adventure.......
Can I say fun...we laughed...giggled....went on many rides and saw Mickey thats right Mickey Mouse and many other Characters along the way.....

We then rented a car and drove the crazy streets of L.A.....you get use to the traffic after a while.....but a little different than here.....5 lanes of traffic can come to a hault just like that......

We headed to San Diego.....

Sea World where we fed Sting Rays, played with dolphings, touched star fish, watched a Sea Lion Show and or course saw SHAMU....and when they say "SOAK ZONE"...they are not kidding......we then headed over to the journey of Atlantis and combination Roller Coaster/Splash Ride...again another fun-filled day.....

Universal Studios....for anyone who has a love for Movies this is the place to be....where it all happens

San Diego Safari Tour.....wow......we loved it...we go to see birds up close and personal, pretend we were turtles.....go on an African Safari.....very educational...they are a breeding facility that is trying to intergrate these animals back into the wild....

We finsihed off our vacation at the outlet stores where we found fantastic deals...so much we had to purchase another suitcase to come home with...lol

All and all it was a busy but fantastic trip and I would go back in a second...I am still smiling from ear to ear......

I went into the city yesterday to help a friend out with her make-up course that she is taking and her is a look of fantasy...I actually drove home with this make-up on my face and you should have seen some of the looks that people were giving me...lol...

Over the past week I have been having some major issues with my picture program and have no idea why....I can upload the photos...know that they are there...but can't see them, access them or upload them to anywhere else...why...it still remains a mystery....so nothing like the present time to learn the upgraded version to the program...I have had this program for a while....so upgrade we have...

Good thing these programs really are not all that different or I could be really really lost...I admit I am a few days behind on posting and may not even have all my photos for the week...I have not accessed the full damage as to what may have been lost in the process....

I am still taking Faiths Simplicity Course and am trying to sort out all the photos for the assignments and team them up with my 365 Day Challenge.......This weeks Challenge were harder than you think, especially when you seldomly ever play with your ISO settings.
